a reality in my mind

Sunken eyes
haze over ruined destinies
A chosen path found guilty of pain
but not enough to jump ahead and escape the insane

Broken smiles 
barely leave her face
As its strength is too shallow to reach 
another one’s heart

Bitter taste
is the cause of all evil
No sugar will satisfy 
only thoughts of pain can do the trick

Frozen touch
longing for a warm hand 
Feeling ice blue blood pumping 
from a love-deprived heart

How to show the world
to eyes that have given up
or to bring joy to a frown wired shut
to sweeten the sour when sugar is not sweet enough
Or to thaw an endless winter without love

She is oblivious to chances
Oblivious to change
Unforgiving of her mistakes
Yet possesses powers reigning over flooded parades

A demon in her paradise
A tyrant in her own land
A dictator in her mind

a child 
underneath unshaken lies
