But a Passing Moment

Heads turned down; rushing in a hurry down the stairs.
But out of all of them I see you.
Standing upright like the rest, yet so different to all the others.
You fascinate me, I try to watch closely but feel as if I am afar.
What could I do?
To be closer? In whichever way pleases you most.
But that is just a mindless thought, over romanticised like everything in this shameful world.
The world tells me that I need someone like you.
I know I am me and that i do not need you,
Though I find you fun to be around; to laugh at and with.
Your smile seeps into me; a warm one indeed.
Making me feel at peace, at home in comfort.
Even just for a moment; while rushing down the stairs.
