Autumn's Harvest

As the years go by,

the seasons may become a blur,

but late in the evenings of autumn,

you’ll hear the wind start to sigh.

Time feels as if it began to stir

as the harvest moon shines high in the sky.

The cold seeps into the ground

as word begins to go around

that winter is on its way.

The animals know it too,

as they huddle together, snug like a bug.

Burrowed deep into the ground like a potato,

rabbits hide from the warnings of winter.
