a blend of pastel colors unfold
as a flower blooms and thrives
in the awakened blossoms of spring
water
the water gently ripples
sending elegant waves
to the sun-kissed shore
tick
the grandfather clock strikes
midnight in one microscopic gesture

A goldfish. An animal that might seem plain and ordinary at one glance, but it’s so much more than that.
The girl I once knew
sang merrily while lying on the damp grass,
read stories out loud to her dolls;
played with a bright pink tea set.
But now
she only sings while no one is hearing,
She lights up the room,
ignites the fire in their souls,
so conspicuous and a fire so bright,
never missed and never misunderstood.
He holds his breath,
waiting for her to notice,
