My Perpetual We...

One Thousand Days and Counting

One Thousand Days and Counting.mp3
Enjoy...

(1st verse)
White noise, check your conscience here
She said in space there's no room for fear
She kept a picture by the door
To remind her of the way things were before

(2nd verse)
"Houston, I'm never coming down
I'd rather watch the world keep turning 'round
Up here it's just my rocketship and me
And you can't cry in zero gravity
She knows there's nothing for her there
As she sits up there breathing prepackaged air
She hates the feel of solid ground
Up here she's a queen without a crown

(pre-chorus)
Who the hell do you think you are?
Caught between Planet Earth and the local star
You better love it up there, sitting all alone
You're one thousand days and counting and you're still not coming home

(Chorus)
Just a sailor without a sea
A starspun curiosity
I've lost control

(3rd verse)
Are you still there? Has something gone wrong?
You've been up there for far too long
Tell me, have you lost your mind?
Wouldn't you like to live among your own kind?
"Houston, can't you see I don't have a choice?
You may be the last to ever hear my voice
I'm disconnecting now, up here I can see all
I am above you and you cannot make me fall

(pre-chorus)
Who the hell do you think you are?
Caught between Planet Earth and the local star
Can you still see us, or have you tired of looking down?
You're one thousand days and counting and you've shut your engines down

(Bridge)
And maybe it was the alienation, and maybe it was fear
Perhaps you sometimes felt there was no space for you down here
Time cannot touch you up here, tears cannot fall
Perhaps you felt that you deserved to live above us all
And when you burn out just like any other star
Will you realize that you finally gone too far?

(Chorus)
Just a stranger awaiting change
A starspun curiosity
I've lost control

(Outro)
I've lost control
I've lost control
I've lost control
I've lost control
I've lost control
I've lost control
I've lost control

This is really great! I love the lyrics and your voice, and the structure of the chords. (Basically I love all of it.)
