Quiet Hallways

Looming hush, breath softens.
Stepping to the mops rhythm
I push the bucket
shoe’s splattered
chemical fragrances on my lungs.

In
Out
In
Spin
Out

One hallway
another.
Carrying the weight of supplies
room to room.
Arms soreI push back and forth
Disinfecting the earth for tomorrow.
