People used to question
why I never turned in the extrovert direction,
why I never spoke,
why the quiet side awoke.
I spent my time in the shadows,
everything around me falling like dominoes.
I can watch
my classmates drink Scotch,
watch some emo couple kiss.
Those are things I don’t miss.
But other things I see,
like the washing and crashing of the sea,
and the birds cheerily chirping,
my new baby brother burping,
all the little sounds,
as I wander the college grounds,
all the beauty I see
Also inside of me.
I used to be uncomfortable,
but now it’s unthinkable
to not just be myself,
for someone not to be one’s self.
Just let me be me.
I’m happy,
because I can see.

I really like the "for someone not to be one's self" line. It's step back, away from introspection, away from the rest of the poem, and the way you use repetition to draw parallels between the speaker and the "one" being referenced is great. Nice work.
