I miss ...

I miss my school, my friends.
I can't stand thinking that
when I go back, everything will have changed.
The people who I'm close to may no longer be there.
Because schools are closed the things I love to do are being cancelled.
I miss knowing that whenever I need a hug,
I can just look over at my friends and feel better.
I miss knowing that on Monday morning,
everything will be OK.

I miss the mundane

I miss the mundane things in normal everyday life that I used to take for granted.
Things like hearing music after fourth block on a Friday
When I know I have the whole weekend ahead of me.
I miss the predictability that my normal life had.
I never thought of it as predictable until now, but looking back at it, it was more predictable than I ever appreciated.

This is a simple poem that I think captures what a lot of people are feeling right now. Well done!

I hope that when people read this they know that they're not the only ones having a hard time.

By being yourself, you put something wonderful into the world that was not there before.

Zazu's right. You've captured what many people are feeling. In fact, this poem is so inspiring and relevant to today that we turned it into a writing challenge, CJP-Miss. Thank you for the great idea!
