Home Away from Home

Last April, I was fortunate enough to have an experience I could never leave behind me. To me, this wasn’t just an experience.... It was a series of memories that when intertwined, bring me back to a place, and even a feeling I could never forget. I still can physically feel what it was like to stand there, to walk, run, and live during that week. Tingles run around me as I think about this. Taking myself back, really makes me feel comforted. Makes me feel alive, and safe. It brings out the life in me, it gives me hope for more incredible times like this ahead. This is why it’s more than just a place, more than just a week I spent living my best life. It’s a home away from home, and to me it’s life itself. This is why life is worth living.

(By the way, this “place” I’ve been swooning over is a tropical vacation my family and I went on during spring break!!)

AnikaR, I can really feel your heart in this. It's clear how much joy this memory brings you, and I hope you hold it with you always. I would love to see you add more sensory details if you ever come back to this, so the reader can picture your personal oasis, too! What's a sight you saw that struck you at the time? What did the water feel like, or the sand under your feet?
