Scrambled Eggs

This year
Easter has been cancelled
because the world
has turned into
scrambled eggs

our smooth protection
was just a facade
too fragile
for the likes of our world
now cracked
beyond repair

Right now it looks
like a big ol' mess
but look!
it's sizzling
add some pepper
and a pinch of salt
and we can have
scrambled eggs

the easter bunny
won't come this year
no egg hunts
no candy
what a tragedy

but at least
at the end of it all
we'll have
scrambled eggs

  • Happy New Year! :)
Lately, it feels like time has left me behind. Not necessarily good different or bad different but like many things, a healthy mixture of both. I can't hate 2020, and I won't hate 2020. Because, though bitter, quarantine gave me YWP. It gave me a better sense of self, and it gave me many realizations that, though many led to more journeys than actual ends, was more satisfying than anything I had found before. Read more

Haha thanks so much! It's one of the few things I can make so I've been eating it a lot lately- go make yourselves a plate! I personally prefer mine with green onion but it didn't really work with the metaphor ;)
