Dear White People

Dear White People

We are tired.

We have educated you for a long time.

Why must we repeat ourselves again?

Yes the system is corrupt.

No this is not the first, second, third, fourth or fifth time black people have been killed brutally by the police.

Yes people are “rioting”.

I think we want to be safe in our own country

No, I don't want to spend time with white people.

I am tired of the constant way they race with each other to see who knows more, and I need to heal.

Ask yourself “Where was I the last time a black person died? Will I show up for P.O.C. again?”

Because we really don't trust you

So dear white people please do me a favor and stop pestering your black friends with questions.

If you want info I suggest you reach out to my good friend-- the internet.

I like the tittle, and there is actually a Netflix show tittled this (not sure how for what age tho) and its cool how you answered the unsaid question. Nice work

    when thinking
about what you could trying to say with this piece I question the use of the word "we" when talking about your ideas , in fact to me the whole piece contradicts itself. You speak both of collective opinion and your own ideas. both of facts and opinions are presented in the same way; as truth. The idea of the piece becomes lost in confusion but from he way the piece reads it seems that was not your intention. perhaps I'm over thinking and the meaning is simply the sharp fresh anger cutting through the poem.

I am sorry this came across as anger to you. But as much as I am angry this is how my friends and family feel.

I hope you didn't think I was being rude and I am sorry if it came across that way. it was just my garbled way of gently reminding you not everything is as simple as one or the other
