Lavender

I let the lavender plant die.

It wilted,
then it dried
and it withered,
then it died.

I got sick of my clothes smelling like
your perfume,
wine red satin sheets that remind
me of your shampoo.

There’s no Hallmark movie about us,
but I bet a wrinkled $5 it’s coming soon.
They’ll leave out the ending though,
because breaking is just not the right "mood"

It's a shame,
you know,
that you wear
lavender perfume.

I love lavender, which I admit is why I got drawn in almost instantly. It's interesting, how although you talked about lavender in the beginning my brain didn't make the connection bc of the line break. Which made the ending just perfect, because I was like OHHH. Anyway, amazing poem :))

Hi! This is lovely. I was wondering if you would be okay with me doing the sprout thing and writing a poem that relates to this one?
