Collective Amnesia


I didn’t realize 
how precious 
The stars are.

WIthout them 
we wouldn’t have 
constellations.

What would we do
if we couldn’t project 
our stories 
onto the sky
and watch as 
the Earth’s
violent turning
brings them 
gently to life?

The sky is filled
with smoke  
and I don’t know 
where to look.
