Writing Contest: Black Joy

YWP writers from New England and New York, ages 12-19, are invited to participate in a writing contest with the theme Black Joy. Contest organizer 826 Boston, a youth writing nonprofit, contacted YWP to invite submissions. They must be under 1,000 words and received by Oct. 31. Selected authors will receive $100. A book is also being planned to publish the winning submissions. 826 Boston says, "Black Joy is perseverance, Black Joy is healing, Black Joy is laughter, and Black Joy is critical to our survival. It is a reminder that our laughter, the things we love, our unapologetic joy fuels our liberation." Find out more and submit to the contest here.
