a query, mostly

Dear young writers,

I am gg. For those who don't know, I created Young Writers Project in 2003 while in the last years of my 33-year career in journalism. In 2006, I developed this site (rather, the first iteration of this site) and ran YWP as an independent non-profit until 2018, at which time I handed the organization over to the incredible Susan Reid so I could pursue some of my own writing projects and photography. I am now 110,000 words into a novel, Hiram Falls,  which is set to be published as a serial – text and audio – online sometime in the spring of 2022. (For some of my recent work, go here: https://geoffreygevalt.com)

I write to see what types of workshops, mostly online, you would like in the coming fall. From me. One-time workshops or a series over time. Some options:
  • Fiction -- I'll help you conceive, write and edit a short story.
  • Photography -- I'll help you take great pictures AND we'll choose some of what you take along the way as writing prompts.
  • Journalism -- You'll decide the topic -- an outrage, the compelling issue, the concern, the victory, whatever -- and I'll help you create a story -- text, visual, video or a combination.
Please comment and tell me what you are dying to improve in your creative endeavors. And maybe we can shape an online workshop or series of workshops to help.

Peace,

gg

    Dear gg,
Could you possibly host a fiction workshop?

    Thank you!

Yes I could. Talk with some of your writerly friends to see if there are others who’d be interested.
