poem challenge: Sunrise

Sun's Slumber

Sun’s Slumber

The sun rises so full of color

A new day has begun, full of second chances

Before the sun rises it rests in the ocean

But when it awakens from its slumber

It almost looks as though, the sun has risen out of the sea

A new day, a gift, for everyone to share

Some people can’t stop thinking about the past

Some can’t stop worrying for the future

But when they realize and embrace that they are in the present

                  They will become happy

But as the sun rises, when the day is done the sun sets

To give the moon a turn.
