Da Escape

It’s my first time going on a plane and it is scary. But I will deal with it.Though the flight is long and I am nervous, I am also happy because I get to go to Florida.It is going to be a four hour trip. My mom is in the same seat section and my sister and I are going to be at the window seat.

I can't wait to go to Florida! I hope I get to go fishing and catch something like a grouper, not the Goliath Grouper. They are the size of cars and weigh like two hundred lbs to seven hundred pounds. I love to fish but I am not too strong.

Four hours later we got to the beach and the waves were crashing on the shore.Then we got to the dock and went on the Cruise ship. It is huge with so many people and rooms. The water crashing on the ship, the seagulls flying in the distance and the fish jumping.

Between the pages

A girl scales down the pages of various novels
And finds comfort in each world she plummets into,
To find solace in between the crinkly pages,
And meet characters who are thoroughly flawed,
To experience the triumphs, the sorrows, the thrill-inducing adventures that leave her on the edge of her seat.
And if there was a chance to wipe her memory slate clean in order to experience everything again, she would take that chance,
To once again feel the wind tussle her hair as she stands atop the snowy peaks towering in the backdrop of Velaris, the city of dreams and starlight,
To wander down the cobblestone streets of the Ballenger’s territory
Where the busiest trade of the continent occurs with businesses of all sorts — assassins, trade, knowledge — taking place in dark alleyways or furnished taverns,

Singapore

If I could escape somewhere else I would go to Singapore. This is not the most creative or poet answer, but this is the place I would like to go. I have always admired the architecture and the street food sounds amazing. I have never been to Asia and it sounds fun to experience the new culture. going to a different continent sound like a great thing to do because I have lived most of my life between New Hampshire and Vermont I have traveled to different countries but never any here as far as Asia.

where flowers never die
and the butterflies dance between their petals
where the stars twinkle in the night
and the sunsets are streaked with pastels

let me escape from reality
let me leave my overwhelming schedule and the stressful news
let me live in a world of kindness not hate
where people laugh and dance
where people are kind

take me there

For me,
Escaping doesn't always mean a happy place
Because It's not always about being happy
My escaping place
Could be anywhere from
A library to my room or maybe even the moon
To escape from reality
I drown myself in words
In books in poems in quotes
My escape is to do lists and mental notes and school projects
Sure, they don't always make me happy
But they distract me
From the real world
And that
Is what my escape from realtiy is about

Sunshine

Just a little girl,
Lights off,
Eyes closed,
Unable to settle after her mind was just racing a million miles an hour,
After her feet were jumping from wall to wall,
Until she feels the familiar weight create an indent next to her on the bed.
The hands that belong to this weight begin to tuck her in.
The blanket starts to hug her tighter.
She feels warmer and safer.
And the soft voice begins to sing.
“You are my sunshine, my only sunshine.”
The melodies of her childhood.
The words enter her ears like conditioner into silky hair.
“You make me happy, when skies are gray.”
She is able to lie there and listen.
The gentle hand begins to trace soothing circles on her back.
And the light fingers brush over her eyelids.
“You’ll never know, dear, how much I love you.”
Absolute calm and then sleep.

Never began, Never Ended
Don't worry or blink it will be all over,
I am so hopelessly awake, just like I couldn't
escape, I want you to explore my mind, everything
becomes so vivid you can almost see it all, the
the beating of my heart, the pounding of my head,
yes it will haunt you as it haunts me while im
sleeping in my bed, I want it to escape, go-ahead
run and the exit, just know one of us got to escape,
now don't turn back, run, run don't let it stay
in your mind, you got this, Just keep going
and escape this feeling you know you can do it,
just like me, I did it, I finally escaped, just look forwards
yeah it's gonna take a while that's okay just know you have
someone that's gonna be with you, so escape that feeling
break out of it show yourself you rule and your boss

My Empty Mind and Place

In all of my known world, I would venture to the high deserts spanning the western United States. For me, to truly escape is not only to escape one's setting, but to escape all burdens. Deep within the high deserts, hundreds of miles away from the bustling streets flowing with strangers, I am tranquilized by the aromas of sagebrush carried by the wind. A roaring reservoir of advertisements that staggers the eye is replaced by an empty horizon brilliant with hues of red and orange. Towering buildings are dwarfed by the colossal pinnacles and plateaus that line the landscape. In the high desert, there are no predators that roam the grids of civilization, rather, there are apex predators such as cougars who tackle and dismantle the human body bite by bite without hesitation. It's truly nothing personal. One hundred and fifty pound cats require a sufficient food source like any other living organism.
