It was a bland day. Nothing was going on. It was foggy outside so visibility was low. Max stared out his father's study window he saw nothing in the distance except the old pine by the Mason Mansion. This tree had to be 500 years old and just the fact that it is still standing amazed just about everyone. It had been a common talking point of the town recently. At the coffee shop and in the barbershop you might have heard people asking….
“Did you hear the wind last night? I thought for sure the Mason oak was coming down.”
Or
“How about that Mason oak? My grandma said it was fully grown when she was born. And she used to have a pet dinosaur.”
Stupid things like this went around town from time to time when nothing was exciting to talk about. Because there always had to be something to talk about. Even if the only thing was a darn tree.
