A Path Of Fire

From a distance, I observe the forest.
As I look up at the sky, dark clouds begin to gather.
Soon, rain pours down and heavy winds blow the leaves.
The thunder is loud and the lightning strikes, burning trees.
Suddenly, the flames start heading straight for me, burning around the forest and creating a path of fire.
The flames rise higher and higher, leaving no space to escape.
They curl and wisp around, making it hard to breathe.
Destruction is happening before my eyes, with trees falling and the ground shaking.
I see a mix of colors - reds, oranges, and yellows - all intertwining with each other.
In one swipe, everything is gone.

Great imagery! I really love how the last sentence leaves the poem off with a little suspense!
