The Season of Ice

As a child, I would watch the snow melt-
and no matter how I felt-
I knew all good things must come to an end.

Winter was my favorite seaon,
snow gently falling onto my face,
like cold, tiny kisses from the sky.
And, I would always wonder why-
no one else favored winter too.
I never cared for the cold,
but when the sun set-
it wrapped around me in a tight hold.

As a teenager, I would watch the snow melt-
and no matter how I felt-
I knew all good things must come to an end.

Winter is my favorite season.
I love the slowly falling snow.
Winter has never felt like my foe-
so I always wonder why-
as I look up at the cloudy sky-
why does no one else favor winter, too?
I will never care for the cold,
as it freezes my fingers-
together in a tight hold,
but I will always love the icy season,
and for so many reasons.

    Poets note;
I know this isn't an exact moment where I've felt happy, but I love winter and the season itself makes me happy.
