Milky way

By now I have written far too much,
About the milky way that dances across your face.
I have dreamed far too much,
About tracing the stars that line your nose.
I have ached far too much,
To count the freckles that are the milky way.

I never understood,
How some people could ever,
Think freckles are ugly and perfectly spotless skin was better.
How would you be able to see the milky way?
How would you be able to play dot to dot?
I never understood how they,
Never saw the beauty in those stars,
Never saw the magic in your face.
That haunts me every time I look your way.

When you look at me,
My eyes flick around your face,
Trying to count your freckles.
When can I count them by hand?
When I look at you,
I try to not stare,
Not look at those black holes that are your eyes.
Not look at the shooting stars,
Not look at the planet on the tip of your nose.

By now, I have written far too much,
About the milky way that dances across your cheeks,
About the black holes that are your eyes,
Hints of chocolate when they are dipped in sun.
