Something About The Rain

Something about the rain washes my fears away
It brings me to a place of calm and peace
When I hear the drops against the ground, I hope it will last all day

The clouds turning the world grey is like a masterpiece
The earth has a certain smell when it rains
As if everything is clean and new
Perhaps the rain is there to wash away the stains
I almost wish it could wash away me too

Looking out the window and seeing nothing but the drops fall
Coming down from the great big sky
Every time this happens, I feel so small
I get in my bed where I never want to say bye
I hope there is a storm with lots of rain soon
Because recently those seem to be as rare as a blue moon

  • Drowning

    I’m drowning
    Sinking in my own emotions
Waves crash over me again and again
The waves of sadness, guilt, fear
    It’s too much
    I can’t breathe
    I’m supposed to be swimming
But what if it’s easier to sink
  • Strawberry Rain

Strawberry fields pouring down from the sky
The vibrant red fruit is falling into the grass
    Falling forever and ever
Down to this small rock we call Earth
Why are they falling? How is it happening?
    No one knows anything
  • The Dancer

    A spin and a twirl
    A kick to a split
The dancer knows eyes are on her
    Watching her every move
Scared to look away as if they might miss it
Miss the ease with which her body moves

    She is strong and capable
