I Can Only Dream

I love reading. I love being taken to a place far away from home and learning about the characters. I’ve had my issues with reading, usually being told to read something makes me lose interest. But when I look at a book I want to read, it's one of the best feelings.

All my life I’ve been surrounded with books, my father is a librarian and our house is like his own personal library. I've been working on a library of my own as well, though what I have now is not nearly what I envision it to be in the future.

I want a large room with wooden bookshelves up to the ceiling. They will be lined with books of all genres, and little knick knacks that correspond to the books. There will be a section for all my Stephen King books, many for my fantasy young adult books and whatever else I end up inheriting or collecting for myself. I want a reading nook, but probably not with a chair, seeing as I can never sit still. Probably one of those large bean bags or a large couch of sorts, though if I'm being honest I’ll probably end up on the ground because that is what usually happens. A table in the middle of the room full of books I have yet to place on the shelves, still in bags from impulsive purchases in BAM and Barnes and Nobles. Mugs I always forget to take back to the kitchen to be washed, and more knick knacks.

I have an image in my mind of what I want the library to be, I’ve seen other people and just know that I want mine to be similar. I know it’s not likely to come true, it would probably cost a lot of money but I hope to have something similar in the future. If reading has taught me anything, its to dream, and I can only dream of my library.

  • The Diner

I walked into the nearly empty diner and was hit by the strong smell of decay. The smell is dreadful, I have to pinch my nose so I don't hurl on the cheap tile floor. I continue stepping in and look around.
