A girl in my school was sexually assaulted 2 days ago during school hours. The boy who assaulted her was suspended for only 3 hours and wasn't allowed to play in ONE soccer game! If you're caught vaping on the school campus, you get suspended for a week and kicked off the soccer team. The girl was physically and emotionally damaged, and she got no justice. This is so unjust and unfair and sexist. Has anyone else been noticing that things like this have been happening more and more?!

1. i am so sorry about the girl. I don't know if you know her well or not, but regardless, please let her know that she is loved and valued by so many people and it was. not. her. fault.
2. i totally relate to this. it's popping up more and more, and people are becoming more ignorant about it. no person ever wants to be raped or assaulted; no person wants to live with that feeling of guilt; and no person goddamn invites it. i am always scared of it because of who i am and who i choose to be and how i choose to live my life, and i know that many of my friends, both boys and girls, are scared of it as well. it's one of the things that piss me off more than anything, and we need to be better as a society when it comes to dealing with these kind of topics. yes, they are awkward, and yes, they might be embarrassing, but we aren't going to get anywhere if we never take the chance to talk about them and see what we can do better.
i'm so so sorry about the girl. the boy who assaulted her deserves more of a punishment than that. i'm here for anyone who wants to talk about stuff like this. tell her to be strong and keep her head held high and don't let him win.

It's been awful. Something happened like that at my local high school and the girl who was being assaulted punched the guy in the face, then she got in trouble for it! It's absolutely awful. And with that stupid abortion law in Texas being approved, I'm just so over it. Women need more respect in this country, and quite frankly, everywhere. Some of the things happening, like the abortion law, are just so unfair to girls. We deserve to be any place that decisions are being made, and we have a right to make any choices regarding our bodies. And some people (usually men) need to understand that no matter our clothing we aren't just inviting you to assault us like that, just because of how someone is dressed doesn't warrant any kind of consent, and that person deserves just as much respect as anyone else, whether male or female or both.
