Humidity

Humidity.
It makes clothes stick to your back,
like a moth to light.
It makes you feel as if you've just run a mile,
while you've only walked to the kitchen & back.
When you're either sweating or panting
the clouds begin to darken,
becoming the color of an artist's palette gone wrong.
The sky brightens with lightning,
the clouds shake & boom,
& the rain drenches any unlucky soul below.
But with the crack of lightning & the rumble of thunder,
the humidity breaks
& the world feels much cooler.

  • People and politics

    It tears people apart.
    It brings people together.
    It creates a whirlpool of

Politics has brought divisions among us
and identity in an ever-changing world.
  • The Wolds We Visit

    When we sleep
    we drift up,
    rising to
    a land of promise
    and opportunity.
    A place where
    we can dream,
    and be ourselves.
    We rencounter
    the day,
    and the day before,
going over it a hundred times
