BLOODY SMILE

I was over you,
I was over the way your voice felt streaming around me,
I was over the way it felt when you stood in front of me,
It usen't to bother me, but then you bloody smiled.

I light up when I hear your voice across the room,
It feels as if my body is on fire,
Igniting at the possibility of what could've been,
What still could possibly be.

I envisioned a time where it would've been a good idea,
When I could've fallen for you at a good time,
A time where we both fell,
Same time at the same pace.

I used to see it working,
I usen't to be afraid of the way my body responded,
Glimpses of what could still be,
Every time you speak, or I catch your eye.

I was over you,
I was over the laugh that echoes through my memory,
I was over the way it felt when you called out to me,
But then you bloody smiled man.

  • That wasn't the plan

    I should be studying.
I should be drinking overpriced coffee.
I should be stressing about finals.
I should be joking about grad trip.
    I should be anywhere else.

I shouldn’t be quarantined. That wasn’t the plan.
  • a four letter word

Home isn’t:  a place, consistent, geographical.
My home isn’t  just a four letter word.

Home is: safe, happy, my passport, my family and friends.
My home changes with the price of currency.
