I wish I knew where I longed to go
I wish the answer was a simple yes or no
But it’s not, because
I don’t know where I belong
Do I belong to my childhood home?
The only place I ever truly known
Where I could be myself
And everyone else would say “okay"
Do I belong to my new school?
Where all the people welcomed me
But I still feel alone as the days go on
Pretending to laugh, to get the joke
So I can be accepted
Do I belong to a place I’ve never seen?
A place where no one knows my name
I can be a little fish in a big pond
And maybe I can try to find myself
Maybe, in this new place
Do I belong anywhere?
Is there a place that will have me?
That will want me?
I want to find my home
Perhaps I just have to go out
And look
Look for the place I long to be the most
A place where I belong
I wish the answer was a simple yes or no
But it’s not, because
I don’t know where I belong
Do I belong to my childhood home?
The only place I ever truly known
Where I could be myself
And everyone else would say “okay"
Do I belong to my new school?
Where all the people welcomed me
But I still feel alone as the days go on
Pretending to laugh, to get the joke
So I can be accepted
Do I belong to a place I’ve never seen?
A place where no one knows my name

And maybe I can try to find myself
Maybe, in this new place
Do I belong anywhere?
Is there a place that will have me?
That will want me?

Look for the place I long to be the most
A place where I belong
