Tee Shirts and Blue Jeans

When she was little

She wore the same shirt every day

In different colors

The shirts where plain with a small design

Her mom bought her plenty of sweaters

With cute patterns and fun colors

But all she would wear was her plain ones

Because the girls in her class wore similar ones

When she got older

She wore blue jeans every day

Because blue jeans don't stand out

But she got a sewing machine for her 13th birthday

And starting making cool pants

She didn't wear them though,

Not away from her mirror,

They didn't fit in like plain shirts and blue jeans did

One day a friend came over

"Cool! Did you make those? She said."

"Yeah, they're okay I guess."

Replied the girl, in her hoodie and leggings

"You should wear them to school" said her friend

So that's what she did

And everyone loved it

And the girls were oh so impressed

That was 15 years ago now

And that girl has her own designer brand

Posted in response to the challenge Amazing.

  • To Be a Poet

To be a poet is not to write poems

    No,

    Most anyone can do that

    Most anyone has done that

    For school,

    Maybe

To be a poet is to see a tree

And not just see a tree

  • stop. drop. roll.

    stop.

    stop running.

    stop worrying.

    stop everything.

    drop.

    drop to the ground.

    drop your possessions.

    drop everything.

    roll.

    roll anyway from the fire.

    roll away from your fears.
