Women

Amelia taught us to soar.

Marie taught us to think.

Sally taught us to fly.

Eleanor taught us to speak up.

Jane taught us to write.

Rosa taught us to stand up.

Anne taught us not to forget our history.

Frida taught us to draw.

Malala taught us we could be educated.

Oprah taught us to host.

Ruth taught us to be just.

Sacagawea taught us to lead others in our path.

Susan taught us to vote.

Harriet taught us to help.

Lucy taught us to act.

And Joan taught us to fight.

    There once was a town,

    Or well, a place

Where children danced and played games like people in another place.

They ran jumped and hide and laughed

Well for some who were there.

  • Pity

    A glossy face

    To cover disgrace

    And neither should you

    Because even with it

    Lucious as dreams

It’s taste as skyscrapers are tall

    Death is a dog,

    Fur like a cloud,
