Imagination

She lays there awake. snuggled into the warmth. Heart beating fast. Brain racing past.

Scared of the unknown. The curiosity mixes in the pot with the fear. Is it here?

 In the closest lurking?

Under the bed creeping?  Is it here? She lays there as the demonic darkness swallows her up.  Blackness rises and over takes the small light from the hallway. Shadows pass by,

 She wants to cry.

The world feels so gloomy at night.  She is tired, but can't rest knowing something might be here. Creaks and bumps come from outside the door. Is it coming for her?

 Preparing for jumpscares .

The noises from the Wind blow through the window. The shades shake. She trembles.

Scared of her imagination. Scared of the World. Scared of herself. She is her biggest fear.                      Her imagination Ran wild.

Her imagination is a killer. Except it tries to kill her with her own thoughts.  Trying to freak her out. She laid there. being swallowed by her fears. Tears crossed her face. She pulls over her covers. She has to get out of bed to turn on the light.

What if you get sucked in by the monster.

What if she is harmed?  The back of her mind knows this is not real. It is hard to push past the front. Don't let it consume you.

Keep going. She lays there in silence. listening intently to the sounds of the nights. rain trickles down the side of the house.

She listens to the rain as her eyes begin to close.

       Her body began to relax.

The next time she opened her eyes the room was full of warm light.

Her fears were diminished, until the next night. Where she again would have to battle the monster inside of her.
