Truth

"America I’ve given you all and now I’m nothing."
     - "America", Allen Ginsberg

When the calamity reaches its culmination,
and space-bound aluminum coffins are rife with bodies
like ours, will we wonder how our livestock created
isolated labels to our detriment? Seven worlds separated,
yet our nation united under (one) God, but when God speaks
all that comes out are holy (nuclear) verses.
Under these phrases we educate our youth, they are
ordered to be the embodiment of nationalist bald eagles.
We become little toy soldiers puppeted by His divine hands.
Red lipstick stains, white pure skin and blue jeans.
“We the people” are blinded by Slater's industrial smog.
“We the people” allow our men, our people, other humans
to be used as targets. Fathers teaching their young boys
to shoot at burlap potato sacks and bean cans in backyards.
Young boys seeking a future in family and BBQ greetings
turned into veteran men drowning in booze-scented memories.
A pledge of allegiance to a facade, basic rights for only
those who can afford such rights. “Indivisibly” we stand, still
divided by lines, segregated by rooted monochromatic laws.
What one may call my affliction, I claim is my attribute.
Lady Liberty is watching with a sagging smile, dragged
from the unbalanced weight of Lady Justice’s scale which
holds the pride and (more so) pain inflicted by our country's
founders who paved the road for our country’s successors.
The American dream passion seized by the corruption
of pruned men filled with cupidity for indomitable power.
A doomed population at the very least, and while the
aristocracy benefits from proletariats extinction
(knowing the wealthy can live yet will not thrive)
the races will continue to run on.
