One step at a time

I feel like this is everlasting.
We are all just fastening our seatbelts,
Taking a ride that might never end,
A ride that could last forever
Like a road trip
On a long road.
The road has lots of potholes, lots of little spikes. That road has a large curve, bending up. Seeming to last forever.
Those are the parts, that aren't so great. The parts that make you frown.
The road has lots of smooth bits.
Those are the good parts. The ones that make us smile. The ones that help us.
Those are the parts we need right now. We need that smooth road, one with no curves.
We come up on a fork in the road.
We either choose to help, or just let this move on.
I would choose the helping road. The smiling road.
That is the road I want to travel on.
That is the road that will reach our destination.
We will reach that road sooner or later.
There might be some wrong directions, and there might be some shortcuts.
I hope for the shortcuts.
And we will have many shortcuts, if we keep moving forward one step at a time.
Even if that means walking on foot. One Step At A Time.
That's all we need.
That can change everything.

This is a poem of hope,

     a poem of peace.

    It is short and sweet,

simple as a bird going tweet.

    I just want to say

    Covid please go away

that is all I have to say.
  • You're Job Is A Tree

    You glow in the day,
    A shadow at night.
As kids climb you they scream with delight.
The sky turns pink, gold, and red.
You sit there watching. With nothing to be said.
    You bloom in the spring,
    And loom in the winter.
