Freezing

Sitting in the classroom shivering,
freezing 'cause the windows are open.

No one else seems to mind the cold,
somehow it makes me feel alone,
shivering by myself.

Does anybody else feel this draft,
it's freezing my blood from the inside out,
slowly turning solid, becoming
a girl-shaped pillar of ice.

I should have dressed warmer, but
it's much too late now, I've made my bed
now I've got to sleep in it.

Now I feel the frost creeping down my spine,
like an icy finger running down the center of my back.

My own fingers freeze up,  if I bend them
they will snap like the icicles
hanging off the eaves.

The chill spread throughout my body,
but still I am alone, the only one
frozen in my own mind.
