Rain Falls Down

Clouds cover the sun
and rain falls down
and no one knows 
the time of day
because it just feels
like it's dragging on
Children jump in puddles
getting their feet wet
and catching a cold
now they are shivering
huddled in blankets
with mugs of hot cocoa
wailing like babes
It feels like the world
is coming to an end
but that cannot be possible
because this day has lasted
much more than a day
The rain falls down
covers the earth
smothering happiness
and destroying all mirth
