YWP's Alumni Advisors for 2023-24
Young Writers Project is delighted to announce that Jadyn Mardy (YWP username Treblemaker); Kevin Huang (YWP username KevinH); and Zinnia Hansen (YWP username Yellow Sweater) will be joining YWP as our Alumni Advisors for the coming school year, 2023-24!
Treblemaker and Yellow Sweater are returning to YWP for a second year as Alumni Advisors. Their positive energy, supportive comments, and writerly perspectives brighten YWP immensely! And a big welcome to KevinH, who joins the group this year, sharing his love of photography and his long connection with YWP (since his days at Edmunds Middle School in Burlington, VT).
Watch for Treblemaker, KevinH, and Yellow Sweater to pop up on the YWP site with comments and encouragement! Start a conversation with them – message them on the site, respond to their comments, ask them questions! They'd love to hear from you!
About YWP's Alumni Advisors
Jadyn Mardy, 20, Treblemaker on the YWP site, will be a junior in the 23-24 academic year at Tufts University in Boston, MA, studying Film and Media Studies and minoring in Child Studies and Human Development. In her free time, she plays in a band and continues her passion for writing "and anything awesome :)."
Kevin Huang, 25, KevinH on the YWP site, is a controls engineer in Cambridge, MA. He was an active YWP member during his middle and high school years in Burlington, submitting photos for publication and covering YWP events as an event photographer. He likes to travel and practice photography in his free time, and has recently started exploring film photography.
Zinnia Hansen, 20, Yellow Sweater on the YWP site, will be a junior in the 23-24 academic year at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA, double majoring in Classics and History. Zinnia was named youth poet laureate of Seattle in 2021-22 and published her first book of poetry, "Spikenard," in May 2022. In December 2022, Zinnia opened for the legendary Patti Smith at a Seattle Arts & Lectures event with her poem, “Cubism,” that she had posted on the YWP site.
