Bennington College Hosts High School Writing Awards

This prestigious writing competition offered by Bennington College is open to writers in grades 9–12. Submit three poems, a short story, or a personal or academic nonfiction essay by Nov. 1 for cash prizes and scholarship opportunities. There is no fee to enter.

Bennington College's annual Young Writers Awards recognize the outstanding achievements of high school writers from around the world. First-place winners in each category are awarded a prize of $2,000; second-place winners receive $1,000; and third-place winners receive $500. A distinguished writer designation is awarded to entries from each category by grade level with a $250 prize. Young Writers Award finalists and winners are also eligible for undergraduate scholarships at Bennington College in Bennington, VT.
