There was another bird today,
floating on a golden branch.
It stared at me, and I stared at it.
In its eyes I could see
what he could not see in me.
I could see a sense of peace,
I could see a sense of plan,

The world is going to end tomorrow,
whether by a big, red button
or a piece of chopped mutton.
But fear not! Do not sorrow,
for either we will be dead by then
or it will come around the bend.

Tomorrow never truly comes,
the future’s dawn never rises. 
The morning sun never sets,
the ash of time never falls.

Tomorrow never truly comes,
don’t put it off for now.
The put off will stay slumber,

We wake and see, to our dismay, the world lit, aflame.
Yet still, now we slumber and don’t stop to see,
our homes burning, our families gone, our time float away.
And when we wake, we don’t stop to see the underlying truth.
