I just finished reading The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan, and it was so incredible. A work of art. I had watched the film beforehand, and I was thrilled when I realized it was based on a novel. I thought naively that reading it would help reveal a lot of the hidden themes that seemed to be trickled throughout. I was wrong. I would kill to be able to dissect this book with a professor, because I feel like there is so much wisdom hidden between the pages that I cannot quite grasp! 10/10 though
