
Thank you for the warmth of the sun against my skin in summer.
Thank you for the leaves that fall in autumn.
Thank you for the fluffy snow that covers the ground in winter.
Thank you for the flowers that bloom in spring.
They tell me I can trust them with anything.
They tell me not to hide.
They tell me that they won't tell anyone.
But...
They never think about why I can't trust them.
They never think about why I hide.

My folks have a Christmas cactus that's been in the family over 100 years, and I've even grown my own from its clippings, but neither have ever bloomed as fully and with as much vivid color as this -- wow!
