Game Day is a realistic style acrylic painting. I included light and dark values to show the form of the football. For the background, I chose to blend colors that reminded me of autumn. I decided to paint a football because I enjoy the sport, it is my favorite sport. I enjoy the weather during the time of year. I found that making the background, mixing colors together and adding a lot of water to the paint, helped get rid of any unintentional brush strokes. This painting is successful because the light color at the bottom suggests movement, and catches the viewers’ eye.
