Hiking Mount Mansfield

I went on a hike up Mount Mansfield with my cross country team Saturday. We got there and Coach pointed out the bathrooms to anyone who wanted to use them before we went and then told us to be back down by 2:30. My friend needed to use the bathroom so I waited for her with another group that needed to use the bathroom while everyone else started. We finished at the bathroom but ran into a problem, no one knew where we were going. So I decided we should go on the path I thought I saw them take. We followed it to the top of the gondola before realizing it defiantly wasn't the right way. My friend called coach and asked how to get where we were supposed to be. He said we had to go down nosedive and then up. So we did what he said, going back up when we thought we were supposed to. It wasn't the right trail, again, but it got us to the right one. So after going up, down, and back up, we finally met up with the rest of the team, right as some started coming down. We were able to spend a couple minutes at the top taking pictures before we had to go down. This time we stayed with a group that knew where they were going. It was a tiny, treacherous trail through the woods. I slipped many times on the way down, but only fell once. The trouble, both up and down, was worth it.
