“Pumpkins” is a drawing with three pumpkins in the foreground going into the background. The background has swirls representing wind with leaves being blown through the air. “Pumpkins” is made with alcohol markers, sharpies, and colored pencils. It represents what Fall looks like to me. Originally, I wanted to do small pumpkins, but as I developed my composition, I switched that. I made the pumpkins larger, brighter, and placed them in the center of the page to create emphasis. The pumpkins are what pulls the drawing together. I just couldn’t imagine having that same effect with small pumpkins. At first I didn't want to include the big leaf at all, but I decided to just try it and I liked it. It emphasizes where the wind is coming from.
