Always Losing To You

I know its not a competition,

but it always feels like I'm losing to you

Whenever I do something

You always have to do it too...

I'm losing to a game that I never signed up for,

I didn't even know I was playing until now...

I'm in the shadows while the spotlight lands on you...

I feel so stupid when I say it,

But I know you're better than me, you know it too, sometimes I wish I was just as good as you...

I get good grades, but you'll get better

I'll read a book, but you'll read more

I'll write a story, but you'll write a series

Why can't I just be good enough...?

You seem so picture perfect, you're my best friend, how could I be so selfish?

I should be so thankful to have you, I should be thankful that you put up with me, right?

So why does it feel like even then, you're still the better half out of the two of us?

You're smarter, prettier, and so kind, how could you not be the better half...

Even in my mind, you come first place, while I come last...
