Change

A normal day,
A normal morning,
A normal breakfast,
A normal bowl of cereal,
A normal spoon,
A normal bite.

Everything is normal,
No difference.

A regular day,
A regular afternoon,
A regular walk,
A regular civilian,
A regular step,
A regular breath.

Everything is regular,
No difference.

A usual night,
A usual dinner,
A usual fork,
A usual munch,
A usual shower,
A usual sleep.

Everything is usual,
No difference.

But could there be a change?
A change that is good?
A change that is bad?

On that very morning,
On that very afternoon,
On that very night,
Did a modification happen within the cosmos?

During that very breakfast,
During that very walk,
During that very dinner,
Did the world go through metamorphosis?

Throughout the bite,
Throughout the step,
Throughout the shower,
Did a country spoil like milk?

As the sun travels across the sky,
As the moon flows past the stars,
Something is changing.

But what exactly is the change?
What is the difference?
Why does it matter?

A butterfly emerging out of its chrysalis?
Or a volcano burying the land in black?
Is life coming anew?
Or is life being taken?
Could a tree be growing,
Or could a flower wither?

So much change.
Overwhelming differences.

Can it be just
A normal day,
A normal morning,
A normal breakfast,
A normal bowl of cereal,
A normal spoon,
A normal bite?
Can it be just
A regular day,
A regular afternoon,
A regular walk,
A regular civilian,
A regular step,
A regular breath?

Can it be just
A usual night,
A usual dinner,
A usual fork,
A usual munch,
A usual shower,
A usual sleep?

If there is so much change,
Can anything be normal, regular, or usual?

No.
It cannot.
The land shifts,
A life rises to heaven,
Trees grow.

So much change,
But the question is,
How will you change this world today?
How will you make it extraordinary?
