It creeps up on you

When you never welcomed it in the first place

You have no control as your body trembles for the slightest moment

Shaking at what could have been

What could’ve happened

If the cards were turned around

Tremors fueled by your doubts 

But then you’re brought back to the present

Sucked back into reality

That it never happened

And you carry on as is
