Coming back on the first day,
awake, yet unawake to the world,
alive, yet not feeling alive just yet.
Not moving tons, just a wiggle.
Closing her eyes for the first time.
As they close, she sees, for the first time,
darkness there and nothing more.
Embrace the darkness, for it gives
you comfort,
it gives you warmth.
Openning her little eyes she sees
darkness there too.
Openning her little eyes she sees
darkness where there was once light.
And as time passes, and moons fade,
she grows to love this darkness.
Not the darkness of open eyes,
but the darkness of those shut.
The darkness holds her dreams,
not hostage, not hostage,
but not free.
They lay dormant there in the dark.
And as time passes, and moons fade,
the darkness is all she has,
for in the darkness, a false light.
And as time passes, and moons fade,
her time starts to fade away,
and she finally wakes, and she says,
"darkness is nothing compared to the light."
awake, yet unawake to the world,
alive, yet not feeling alive just yet.
Not moving tons, just a wiggle.
Closing her eyes for the first time.
As they close, she sees, for the first time,
darkness there and nothing more.
