The light pushed its way through the trees,
sliding beneath the intertwining branches,
from the never ending blue sky.
It dappled the dirt path
just like the little round pebbles
Creating a map
Of a different world.
The fern fronds grew tight,
Entangling with the bramble tendrils
In a thick blanket of unknown.
The river sparkled
Running smoothly around the bends
And over the rocks
Fish shimmering in its depths.
Then almost instantly,
It was gone.
