In the pages of history, we find
Stories of triumph, tales of mankind
From ancient empires to modern times
A legacy of knowledge, courage, and crimes.
The Greeks gave us philosophy and thought
While the Romans conquered and wrought
And the Dark Ages brought us fear and strife
Until the Renaissance brought new life.
From the Age of Exploration to the Industrial Revolution
The world changed with each new solution
And with each passing era, we learn and grow
Adding to the story, the ebb and flow.
Now, history continues to unfold
With new chapters waiting to be told
May we learn from the past as we move ahead
And create a future with hope, my friend.

You have uplifted me! I thought this was likely to take a downward turn at the end, citing how dark events of our recent past would next go down in history, but instead you left me feeling a touch more optimistic. I'm grateful for that. And your rhyming scheme is exceptional!
