If Not Now, When?

If not now, when?

When will humankind come to the realization that we don’t have a planet B to go to,

When will we open our eyes to the destruction we’re still continuing to cause,

And when will our kind start paying for the consequences?

If not now, when?

When is the right time to start being more aware of how you, yourself, are contributing to the madness?

When is the perfect time to start thinking of other species other than ourselves?

How much time do we have to reverse the damage before it’s too late?

If not now, when?

If we continue down this road of self destruction,

Mother Earth will eventually take her last breathe, 

Failing to cooperate any longer with our ignorance.

There will simply be no more soft, billowy grass to dance on

Instead, withered out chunks of dried spindles is what our feet will be making contact with.

Swimming will cease to exist,

With our polluted waters deeming to be unsafe.

But Mother Earth is just holding on by a thread.

Give her hope and help save the future for Mother Nature’s sake,

For the sake of the generations after us,

And for the sake of you.

If not now, when?
