The joke of me

Perfect girl
they say
as they smile straight at me
as if we share some joke
and I'm not in agony
if they saw the rest
I think they'd be quite scared
I wish they saw the half of me
that doesn't comb her hair
the one that screams for no good reason
and waits for thunderstorms
the one who stands with scissors
and wishes her clothes were torn

I'm not your perfect girl
I'll scream if you say it again
but I do try my hardest
becasue life's a game and then...

  • Waiting for Winter

    I wait for winter
    in her heavy white boots
    and sharp sparkling nails
her 5th avenue white fur coat
    and flushed pink cheeks
    she wears black tights
    taught over thin, toned legs
    summer and autumn
    watch her in envy
  • roots

    My deep tangled roots
    Twisted into knots
    Running cross country
    Are dragging towards the ocean
Yearning for the sun dripping down
    Over wet seals bodies
    In warm embrace
    I want nothing to do
    With this life
    Today,
  • Sunday

The rain has found its way
    Onto our mountain
    Drenching each new bud
    Reaching for life
    In the foggy air
    Smothering their joyous cries
As mud seems to engulf us
    One
    By one
